Job Description
YOFC is seeking an experienced Field Support Engineer to provide on-site technical support, installation supervision, and after-sales service for optical fiber cable deployment projects across North America. The role requires a solid background in optical cable construction, maintenance, and testing, with hands-on experience operating fusion splicing and optical measurement equipment.
The engineer will work closely with the global delivery team to ensure successful field implementation of YOFC’s advanced optical fiber products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide on-site technical support during fiber cable installation, splicing, and testing.
Perform equipment setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting for optical systems.
Supervise or assist local contractors during cable laying and closure installation.
Conduct optical tests (OTDR, IL/ORL, continuity, etc.) and prepare technical reports.
Support after-sales maintenance activities and respond to customer service requests.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and YOFC field operation standards.
Provide timely feedback to the technical support and delivery teams in headquarters.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related fields.
Minimum 3 years of experience in fiber-optic field operations or network maintenance.
Skilled in SMF cable handling, splicing, and testing
Familiar with standard tools such as Fujikura splicers, EXFO/VIAVI OTDRs, etc.
Strong understanding of optical cable structures, closures, and field safety practices.
Good English communication skills; capable of working with multinational teams.
Able to travel frequently within North America for project support.
U.S. work authorization required.
