is looking for an entry level technician who wants to learn and advance in the rapidly growing rechargeable battery field. SpectraPower performs advanced battery research for major silicon-valley and international companies
high tech energy storage startups
major universities
and government research organizations. Our customer’s applications include batteries for electric vehicles
aircraft and drones
portable electronics
etc.
In this position
you’ll work and train alongside SpectraPower’s experienced electro-chemists and chemical engineers developing state-of-the-art Li-ion and solid-state battery technologies. Job responsibilities for this position include building and testing Li-ion
Li metal and solid-state Li batteries
building test systems
installing and maintaining battery assembly and test equipment. No experience in energy storage is required
however qualified candidates should have skills or experience in electronics
chemistry and/or mechanics and be prepared to learn and contribute on the job as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare battery components.
- Process battery electrodes (roll press
die punch
oven baking
etc.).
- Assemble battery cells and assemble into test fixtures.
- Disassemble and inspect cells.
- Data entry to track samples
components
and cells.
- Connect cells to battery equipment and operate battery test equipment to perform routine testing
- Calibrate and maintain equipment.
- Work under lead technicians and follow their directions
Experience and Skills:
- Strong experience executing SOPs.
- Hands on laboratory experience working with materials or chemicals.
- Careful and meticulous when working with samples and when entering data.
- Good attitude to teamwork is a must.
- Prior battery lab experience preferred.
Starting compensation for this entry level position is $20-30/hr. SpectraPower rewards good performance with bonuses and rapid advancement. The position is full time or flexible part time so long as a substantial portion of time is spent onsite during normal working hours. The position requires being in person at the lab. It is not possible to do this work from home or remote.
