Responsibilities include:

• extensive client communication, including, but not limited to, answering the telephones and confirming appointments;
• preparation of family-based petitions, asylum applications, naturalization applications, and other immigration petitions and applications that involve filling out immigration forms;
• preparation of evidentiary submissions during deportation (removal) cases, such as exhibit lists;
• The preparation of client declarations;
• Maintenance of the office calendar;
• Interpreting for clients;
• Translating Chinese documents into English;
• Copying documentation;
• Processing incoming mail and packages with an immigration attorney;
• Ordering supplies;
• Greeting, gathering information, and documentation from clients;
• In-person filing of items with the Immigration Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Postal Service, the San Francisco Asylum Office, Federal Express, etc.

Candidates also must:
• be fluent in English and Chinese;
• Prior experience in immigration law is preferred but not required.
